Q&A

Professor Elaine Boyd, OBE, DL, FCCA, ACA

Capture your achievements clearly, submit a range of evidence and detail your impact. It would be good to see more participation from across all of the UK.

Clearly define what you would like to achieve, prepare an action plan to help you achieve your goals and build a network that is supportive and encourages you to focus on your abilities.

More disabled people are engaging in finance careers and aiming higher into leadership roles. More participation and awareness of adaptive sports – tricycle, ski ing and horse riding.

to see more disabled people secure and thrive in senior finance roles

I am a student pilot and i love to fly and travel. I also enjoy riding my tricycle. I like to spend time with my husband and daughter and wider family including my crazy cockapoo.

My family for sure, holidays and days at the beach relaxing. I also enjoy catching up and socialising with friends.

Dogs – my cockapoo called Maddie

removing physical and social barriers for people to thrive – celebrating that everyone is different and that is ok

Access for a start – it still feels like an afterthought or inconvenience. Should be mainstreamed and penalties applied where bad practice is identified.
