I am an activist at heart whether it’s neurodiversity, disability, race, caste, gender, gender identity or any other marginalisations and intersectionality of these identities. However, realising quite late in my life that I am neurodivergent (AuDHD) had a big impact on what I did in the last 12-18 months. I became vocal about the struggles faced by disabled folks, especially about the barriers they face at work,

I did this through
a) my role of Co-chair of Able2 Network, a disability ERG at EE/BT, representing the interests of over 7k disabled colleagues across the world
b) my role in the trade union as Equalities Rep
c) social media.

Some of the key changes I played a key role at BT are:
1) BT group publishing its disability pay gap reporting, the first tech/telco to do it in the UK,
2) Scorecard changes to manager’s bonus, where they are targeted on representation and inclusion scores
3) Community building through lean in sessions with senior leader including our CEO, CTO and Chief DEI officers
4) Creating champions at over 15 locations
5) Creating and delivering Accessibility training for marketing teams across EE including products, propositions and marketing (happy to work and deliver this outside BT)

I’ve collaborated and contributed to various discussions about Neurodiversity and Disability, especially about the need to move away from Eurocentricity. I write and create content on my socials on these topics. I am a human rights activist outside work.

We live in a world that is made with very few of us in mind, my goal is to try and change this.

I hope seeing me on this list will get more people like me to champion the causes they believe in whether it’s disability or neurodiversity or anything else.

Q&A

Praveen Kolluguri
1) know your rights 2) find your community who can help you navigate the workplace
I advocate strongly for how workplaces can be more inclusive to disabled folks at EE/BT and beyond. I have a successful track record of working and delivering about a wide range of disability related topics like workplace adjustments, knowing your rights, and industry-wide initiatives etc. I specialise in creating content about what neurodiversity means especially from a global majority perspective and champion the topics about research, intersectionality, visibility etc around this.
1) Make workplaces more accessible for everyone and not stop until there is meaningful and respectful work for everyone who wishes to work 2) Make Neurodiversity not a taboo subject, esp among Indian households so every child or adult can get the love and care that takes into account their divergences
I like to read, go to restaurants that are ‘popping off on TikTok’ with my wife, going on daddy-daughter dates with my four year old, socialise with friends, make pizzas (I make the best pizzas in the world according to my family)
seeing people thrive and spending time with people whose values match with mine (social justice)
Cats – they don’t give a monkey about what you think of them
make people thing about accessibility in everything they do
more research into topics around neurodiversity among global majority folks
