Kim Tserkezie has worked as an Actor, Presenter, Writer and Executive Producer for twenty-five years, with a career spanning comedy, drama and documentary. In 2022, she was included in the Top 10 most influential disabled people in the UK and named Number 1 in Digital & Media (Shaw Trust Disability Power 100). Kim was awarded Broadcast Hot Shot Writer (2023) and won an RTS Award for best drama performance in film, Obsession (BFI).
Kim got her first TV break as a presenter for BBC’s Disability Today and From The Edge. She played Penny Pocket in four series and two arena tours of BAFTA award winning, Balamory. Other acting credits include Boy Meets Girl (BBC2) and Wolfblood (CBBC).
Kim set up Scattered Pictures in Newcastle to develop productions which focus on underrepresented talent and perspectives. Since 2011, the company has co-developed TV scripted comedy and drama in collaboration with BBC Studios, Talkback Fremantle, Tiger Aspect Productions, Ardimages UK, Seven Seas Films, Lime Pictures and IMG and has received multiple radio documentary commissions for BBC World Service.
With Scattered Pictures, Kim has received drama and comedy writing commissions from BBC, ITV, Netflix, BBC Film and Channel 4. She is currently writing and exec producing two feature films and a TV series with Quay Street Productions, as well as developing a TV musical drama and a young children’s series supported by the BFI YACF.
Kim is a full BAFTA member and has chaired industry inclusion events for BBC, RTS, BFI, Netflix and Creative Cities Convention. Kim is also a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (Reg. BACP).
