Recognised as a leading expert on accessibility and digital inclusion, Robin Christopherson MBE of UK tech charity AbilityNet is a regular speaker raising awareness of the power and potential of technology to transform people’s lives.
Robin worked for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) before becoming a founding member of UK tech charity AbilityNet in 1998. Leading experts in their field, AbilityNet specialise in advising individuals on digital accessibility and assistive technology.
With courtroom experience as an expert technical witness, Robin is also very active in advocacy and policy – being a member of the All Party Parliamentary Groups on Disability (APPGD) and Assistive Technology (APPGAT) – and was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Suffolk. He was also named in the 2020 ‘Power 100’ list of most influential people with disabilities in the UK, as well as in the 2019 WHO list of the ‘World’s 100 Most Influential People in Digital Government’ (voted by over 500 organisations including governments and global NGOs). He was also very fortunate to be awarded an MBE from His Royal Highness Prince William for his services to digital inclusion in the 2017 new year’s honours list.
Robin also has extensive experience as a judge in several notable awards – including the Digital Leaders 100, the Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) Awards, the Tech4Good Awards and the GLOMOs; the Global Mobile Awards held each year at Mobile World Congress.

Digital has never been more important than it is today – and without accessible, inclusive products and services many of us will be excluded and disempowered.
